Send Me Your Children's Book Recommendations About Freedom, Liberty and US History

I'm trying to find children's books with themes of Freedom and Liberty and Early US History.

Do you have any you can recommend? If so - post it in the comments or email me.

Thanks!

  1. Jean Fritz has written a lot of biographies for children on our founders and those in the Resolutionary War. They are veyr entertaining and my boys loved to read them.

  2. A book I loved as a kid (probably apprpriate for ages 10-14) was Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes.

It was written in 1943 and was a Newberry award winner. Takes place in Boston during the buildup to the revolution; the book also deals with a boy overcoming an injury and learning some humility.
