I've read a lot about the need to "rotate your water" in preparedness books and articles, but to me, it's unconvincing. If you're putting water in a clean container, and the water itself is clean (yes, even tap water), there's no reason why you can't leave the water for _decades_, open it up, and drink it. No boiling, filtering, etc. needed. I don't know; I just think that there's a lot more important things to do with a preppers time than rotating a hundred + gallons of water twice a year.
ReplyDeleteI store *some* water, but I just don't see it as viable for long-term preparedness.
ReplyDeleteIMHO having the know-how & equipment to purify conaminated water is the way to go.

Is it feasable to just run two year old clean stored water through a berky water purifier?
ReplyDeleteIt would really cut down the time rotating a hundred gallon decade old water... :)
